The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has postponed the release of the official notification related to its Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2026 and Indian Forest Service (IFC) Examination 2026, originally scheduled for January 14, 2026, due to administrative reasons. The UPSC Civil Services Examination is for IAS, IPS, IFC, etc.
A new date will be announced soon, and students can check upsc.gov.in for regular updates. Prelims Exam Date remains unchanged, which is scheduled for May 24, 2026, as per the existing UPSC calendar. The application process, vacancies, eligibility criteria, and full schedule will be detailed in the revised notification.
All the UPSC aspirants are advised to:
- Monitor the official UPSC website under the ‘Examinations’ or ‘What’s New’ sections.
- Everyone is advised to avoid relying on unofficial sources or rumours.
- Just because the date is postponed does not mean the study should be postponed too. They must continue preparation as per the current timeline.
How to Fill UPSC CSE Form 2026
- Most of the details in the UPSC application form are auto-filled.
- The application fee can be paid online through SBI Net Banking/ debit card/ credit card, or offline by cash through SBI bank challan mode.
- Candidates must upload scanned copies of their photograph, signature, and other required documents.
- They must enter the examination centre and provide their application fee payment details, except for fee-exempted candidates.
- Candidates should read all the instructions carefully and click on the 'I Agree' button after reading the declaration.
- Then, a page with the registration number will be generated and will be displayed on the screen.
- Candidates must note down their registration number and take a printout of the page for future reference.
