04-May-2026
Author: Anupriya

NEET UG 2026 has been conducted recently, with around 22 lakh candidates appearing. The paper was generally considered easy to moderate, which typically pushes qualifying and admission cutoffs higher compared to tougher years. Official results and exact cutoffs from NTA are expected soon (usually within 4-6 weeks), but experts have released predictions based on trends, difficulty level, seat matrix, and candidate performance.

Qualifying Cutoff vs. Admission Cutoff

  • Qualifying Cutoff: Minimum marks to qualify for counselling (set by NTA via percentile).

  • Admission Cutoff: Much higher marks/ranks are needed for actual MBBS/BDS seat allotment in government or private colleges. This varies by All India Quota (AIQ 15%), State Quota (85%), category, and college.
