Amrita School of Medicine Kochi Placements 2026

Latest Amrita School of Medicine placement records β€” average salary, highest package & top recruiters.

Amrita School of Medicine (part of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham) does not have a traditional "placement cell" like engineering or management schools, as MBBS graduates typically pursue postgraduate studies (MD/MS via NEET-PG), residencies, or hospital jobs rather than corporate-style campus placements. Instead, career support is facilitated through the university's centralised Corporate and Industry Relations (CIR) department (headed by Director C. Parameswaran), which coordinates placements, internships, and career guidance across campuses, including Kochi.

For the School of Medicine, the focus is on clinical training, research opportunities, and professional networking rather than formal job drives. The attached Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences provides exceptional hands-on exposure, often leading to internal opportunities or strong alumni networks for further careers.

Key Activities and Support:

  • All MBBS graduates complete a 1-year compulsory internship (after 4.5 years of study) at Amrita Hospital or affiliated centers. This serves as primary "placement" exposure, with postings across departments.

  • CIR and faculty provide mentorship for NEET-PG preparation, application guidance, and counseling.

  • Alumni portal for job postings, mentorship, career fairs, and networking. LinkedIn and alumni groups show strong presence in healthcare

  • Proximity to Amrita Hospital enables priority for residencies, junior doctor roles, or specialist positions post-PG. CIR fosters ties with premier hospitals, research institutes, and pharma/biotech for allied roles (though limited for pure MBBS).
