To get admission in CIT Chennai, students need to fulfill eligibility criteria as given below:
For B.E./B.Tech: Students must have passed 10+2 from a recognised board with physics, Maths, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects. Minimum aggregate marks must be 45%.
For M.E/M.Tech: Students must have a relevant degree from a recognised university with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
Selection Criteria: Entrance Test
Accepted Exams: TNEA, GATE/TANCET
How to Apply for admissions:
Ensure you meet the PCM criteria above. Gather originals and copies of 10th/12th marksheets, community certificate (if reserved), nativity certificate (if required), etc.
Visit the official TNEA portal when registration opens. Create an account, fill personal and academic details, and pay the registration fee
Upload scanned copies of required certificates. Complete payment online.
Attend online/offline verification at a Tamil Nadu Facilitation Centre (TFC) or through document upload verification as per TNEA schedule.
After verification, TNEA releases a random number and publishes the rank list based on normalized PCM marks (out of 200).
Log in to the portal, fill preferences for colleges and branches. Lock choices before the deadline.
Participate in multiple counseling rounds. Check allotment results round wise. If allotted CIT, confirm the seat by paying the tuition fee online to freeze it.
Download the allotment letter and report to the CIT campus on the specified date with all original documents. Complete verification, pay remaining fees, and enroll.
