The Training and Placement Cell is an important part of Chettinad College of Engineering and Technology. The objective of the placement cell is to create awareness among the students about the professional requirements of the employers. The Cell provides training for students in areas of aptitude, group discussion and mock interviews on a regular basis by both internal and external experts. There is emphasis on technical training as well. Students are given a taste of what they can expect during the recruitment process. Reputed companies from across the country visit our institute regularly for the campus recruitment programmes. Apart from this, companies from the Chettinad Group also offer placement opportunities to our students on a regular basis.

To coordinate the placement activities, the college has a separate Placement Cell. The Placement Cell constitutes of the Placement Officer, Trainer & Placement Coordinators, who support all the T&P Cell activities.

Key Activities of Placement Cell:

• Soft Skills and Personality Development: Workshops and classes on communication skills, soft skills, group discussion (GD), and overall personality development. Experts are frequently invited to deliver sessions on professional etiquette and workplace readiness.

• Mock Interviews and GD Practice: Comprehensive preparation through mock interviews (technical + HR) and group discussion sessions to build confidence and improve performance in actual recruitment processes.

• Industry-Orientated Technical Training: Sessions focused on current industry trends, technical skills, coding practices, and domain-specific knowledge required by recruiters.

• Placement Drives and Campus Recruitment: Coordination of on-campus and off-campus placement drives. The cell invites reputed companies for recruitment and manages the entire process from pre-placement talks to final selections.

• Internship and In-Plant Training Facilitation: Assistance in arranging internships, in-plant training, and industry projects through strong industry connections and MoUs with various companies.

• Career Guidance and Counselling: One-on-one guidance, resume building workshops, and career counselling sessions to help students make informed career choices.

• Alumni Interaction: Regular alumni guidance sessions and success story sharing to motivate current students and provide real-world insights.

• Employability Enhancement Programs: Special programs like the Employability Skills Program for final-year students, focusing on holistic workplace readiness.

Chettinad College of Engineering and Technology offers a range of merit-based scholarships and fee concessions primarily facilitated by the Chettinad Charitable Trust. These scholarships aim to reward high academic performers in Class 12 (Higher Secondary) or polytechnic/diploma courses and support economically weaker students in pursuing engineering and management education, irrespective of caste or creed. Scholarships are limited in number and are awarded on a competitive basis during admission.
