IDC School of Design Mumbai Admission Process

B.Des (Bachelor of Design) / B.Des + M.Des Dual Degree: Passed (or appearing for) Class XII (or equivalent) in 2025 or 2026 for the first time, in any stream (Science, Commerce, Arts & Humanities). All five subjects must be passed. Must obtain a rank in UCEED 2026.

M.Des: Bachelor's degree (minimum 3 years after 10+2) or equivalent in any relevant discipline, completed or appearing for final exam by July 2026. GD Arts diploma (10+5 level) also accepted.

Accepted Exams: CEED and UCEED

 

How to Apply:

  1. Register and Appear for the Entrance Exam:

    • Appear for the exam and qualify (obtain rank/score).

  2. Apply to IDC/IIT Bombay:

    • After results, apply online via IIT Bombay's admission portal

    • Submit application form, upload documents (scorecard, marksheets, category certificates, photo/signature), and pay fees.

  3. Shortlisting and Further Rounds:

    • B.Des: Participate in joint seat allocation rounds through common counseling for participating institutes.

    • M.Des: Shortlisted candidates (based on CEED score) appear for IDC-specific written test (April/May 2026) and interview (May 2026). Portfolio/tasks may be required per stream.

  4. Seat Allotment and Confirmation:

    • Accept allotted seat, pay acceptance/registration fees, complete document verification (online/offline), and confirm admission.

    • Subsequent rounds for vacant seats announced on IIT Bombay portal.
