ILS Law College Pune Admission Process
ILS Pune offers UG and PG courses in various fields of Law. Among them, BALLB {Hons.} is its popular program. ILS Pune is a private law college and was established in 1924.
For admission to the BA LLB program, candidates must have passed 10+2 with at least 45% marks and also need to appear for the MHCET LAW entrance exam, followed by the centralised counselling (CAP) process.
Admission to all the courses at ILS Pune is both merit-based and entrance-based. Interested candidates have to submit the application form online on the official website of the college. The registration for the MH CET Law entrance exam usually starts in the first week of January and continues until the last week of March. ILS Law College Pune Placement
ILS Law College has placement cell that helps students get internships and job opportunities. According to student reviews, about 70-80% of LL.B. students manage to get placed or get internships during their course. It holds highest package of INR 6 LPA from recent placement drive, with lowest at INR 3 LPA.
Additionally, it also regularly shares internship and placement opportunities with students: recently, they listed internships with notable advocates/lawyers. However, according to the Self Study Report, average placement rate over recent years is only around 15.8% for outgoing students.
Note*some students may choose alternate career paths (litigation, further studies, judiciary), which affects placement percentage and package averages. Getting a good placement seems to depend heavily on internships, moot-court performance, networking, not just course/college name.
ILS Law College Pune Scholarships
Scholarship at ILS Law College provides Tuition fee waiver or waiver of other college fees, Freeship/fee exemption at admission time for eligible backward-class students. Maintenance allowance / monthly stipend under some post-matric / scholarship schemes for eligible students. Support for students with disabilities under disability-focused scholarships.
Scholarships/freeships are mostly for students belonging to reserved/backward categories, minorities, or with disabilities. Some merit-based scholarships are also possible (for good academic performance + income/eligibility criteria). If scholarship/freeship is not sanctioned (or if the applicant doesn’t meet criteria), students may have to pay tuition/fees themselves. For certain schemes, you might need to apply via official government portals/schemes. ILS gives a list/links for these on its scholarship page.
Also, if you belong to reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) or have a disability, you likely have access to financial support. Even for general or open-category students, merit-based scholarships/freeships may be possible if you perform well and meet income/merit criteria. This can reduce the financial burden, making law education at ILS more affordable. But eligibility criteria matter that you must check category, income, and other conditions carefully when applying.
