Placement and Internship Cells – Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital

• The college does not conduct traditional campus placements like engineering institutes; most graduates enter hospital jobs or pursue postgraduate medical studies.

• Many MBBS graduates work as junior or resident doctors in government and private hospitals after completing their internship.

Internship Cell, Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital

• The college provides a compulsory one-year rotating internship after completion of the MBBS course.

• Interns are posted in departments such as Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and Orthopedics for practical training.

• Internship training takes place in the attached government hospital where students gain clinical exposure with real patients.

• MBBS interns receive a stipend of around ₹18,000 per month as per government guidelines. 

Scholarship and Fee Concession

• Scholarships are available through Maharashtra Government schemes. Students can apply through the MAHADBT portal. SC students receive Post-Matric Scholarship benefits. ST students may receive full or partial tuition fee reimbursement. OBC students can apply for tuition and examination fee concessions. SEBC category students are eligible for state scholarship schemes.

• EWS students may receive fee concessions based on income criteria. Minority students can apply for central government scholarship schemes.
