NIT Srinagar has a Training & Placement Cell that is very active. It invites companies and organises training sessions for aptitude, coding, soft skills, and mock interviews. Placements are stronger in CSE, ECE, IT, and Mechanical branches. 

Placement records are good as per the records.

Some of the top recruiters include Google, Microsoft, Deloitte, Infosys, IBM, Accenture, Amazon, TCS, L&T, NTPC, DRDO, Samsung, Chegg, Power Grid, etc. In recruitment drives, students are offered job roles based on their academic performance and their interview performance.

Key Functions and Activities:

• The Placement Cell provides Pre-Placement training, such as resume building, GD/PI, and technical skills.
• It focuses on skill development among students in emerging areas like AI/ML, data sciences, etc.
• It maintains strong liaisons with companies, invites recruiters, and manages the entire placement process.
• It collects feedback from the recruiters and students to improve future drives.
• Schedules placements and makes sure the process goes smoothly. It also provides internship opportunities to students.
• It also provides internships leading to pre-placement offers.
• It organises events like hackathons, guest lectures, and industry collaborations. 

NIT Srinagar follows the standard NIT Scholarship Policy set by the Ministry of Education with some additional state-specific and special schemes. It significantly aims at reducing or eliminating tuition fees for eligible students, especially from reserved categories, economically weaker sections, and meritorious backgrounds.
