NIFT 2026 Counselling Live Updates: Choice Filling Link, Seat Allotment Process, Fees & Documents FAQs
What should I do if I miss the Choice Filling deadline of 25 June 2026?
If you miss the deadline, you will not be considered for Round 1 seat allotment. You may still participate in subsequent rounds (Round 2 onwards), but seat options will be limited.
How many choices should I fill to maximise my chances in NIFT 2026 counselling?
It is highly recommended to fill as many realistic choices as possible (campus + programme combinations) in your preferred order. This significantly improves your chances of getting an allotment.
What is the difference between Freeze, Float, and Withdraw options after Round 1 allotment?
- Freeze: Accept the allotted seat and do not participate in further rounds.
- Float: Accept the seat but remain open for better options in next rounds.
- Withdraw: Give up the seat and exit the counselling process.
Is the INR 9,300 registration fee refundable, and when do I pay the main admission fee?
The INR 9,300 registration fee is non-refundable. The main Seat Acceptance Fee (approx. INR 1.83 lakh – INR 1.91 lakh) must be paid after allotment, between 27 June and 1 July 2026, to confirm your seat.
What documents are most commonly rejected during NIFT document verification?
Blurry scans, incorrect category certificates, missing signatures, or size/format issues (not between 100-500 KB PDF). Always double-check clarity and follow the official guidelines.
