Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and its Chairman have clarified that the SSC CGL 2025 examination will not be postponed despite earlier confusion and disruptions. Initially, the Tier‑1 exam was scheduled to be held between August 13 and 30, 2025 as per the official schedule, and this date framework remains valid with no official postponement announced by SSC.

Earlier reports had mentioned disruptions at some exam centres and cancellations affecting a few candidates in cities like Delhi, Gurugram, and Jammu due to operational issues, but SSC assured that these were handled with retests or adjusted schedules rather than a complete postponement of the entire CGL cycle.

SSC Chairman S. Gopalakrishnan addressed concerns around irregularities and emphasized that technical and operational issues were being resolved, and that the recruitment process will continue. He also confirmed expecting the Tier‑1 result to be announced by December 2025, indicating that the overall exam calendar is being followed rather than postponed.

In related statements addressing exam continuity, the Chairman reiterated that while specific phases or tests might be adjusted or retested where necessary, the broader SSC CGL 2025 cycle will proceed without an outright postponement.

What This Means for Candidates

  • SSC CGL 2025 Tier‑1 dates were maintained and not formally postponed by the commission.

  • Disruptions at individual centres do not imply postponement of the full exam cycle.

Results and subsequent stages are expected to proceed according to the revised schedule, with result announcements around December 2025.
