The Training & Placement Cell of AEC became an active functional unit ofthe college from the year 2002. The TPC initiated interaction with various organisations and industries to impress upon them and organise campus recruitments for the students. Over the years, TPC has been providing opportunities to the students to prove their calibre and mettle in various areas, starting from the ICT sectors to the core industries. It has been putting serious efforts to improve the quality of the students by organising trainings, motivational talks, seminars, workshops, etc. through best-available experts.

The TPC has been a significant and notable landmark in the history ofAEC, and will definitely continue to remain so in the coming years. The TPC operates from the Multi-Disciplinary Centre (MDC) complex with its owncommunication set-up. The working team in TPC comprises of Training and Placement Officer, Assistant Training and Placement Officer, Training and PlacementSecretary who is elected every year by the students of the college, Training and Placement Faculty representative from respective departments, Training and Placement Coordinators and office support staff. The Training and Placement Coordinators are student representatives from various disciplines.

Summer Internship:- 

Apart from the placement college also offers a summer internship of a minimum of four weeks, which has been mandatory for undergraduate students pursuing B.E. courses at the end of their 6th semester. The students are to apply at different companies, government organizations and research institutes for internship from the beginning of the semester with the help and support of the departmental faculty members and the Training & Placement cellof the college jointly. The department also helps the students by interacting with the industrial experts, providing the students with recommendation letters and other necessary support. Depending on the departmental view, the students may pursue the internship in a research institute or in an industry.

AEC offer many institute-specific scholarships, facilitates and supports students in availing various government and national schemes for financial aid. These are mainly for economically weaker sections, reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/Minority), merit-based, and Northeast-focused students. Applications are usually made through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) or state portals. 

Key scholarships available/applicable to AEC students:

Ishan Uday - Special Scholarship Scheme for the North Eastern Region for students from Northeast states pursuing higher education. 

• Amount: Up to INR 80,000 per year INR 5,400/month for general degree + INR 7,800/month for technical/professional courses like B.Tech). 
• Eligibility: Family income INR 4.5 lakh/year, first-year UG admission, domicile of NE state. Apply via NSP.

NEC Scholarship (North Eastern Council): For students from NE region in technical/professional courses. 

• Amount: Around INR 13,000–30,000 per annum (varies by course/year). 
• Eligibility: Domicile of NE states, merit and income criteria. Apply through NEC portal or NSP.

Post-Matric Scholarships (for SC/ST/OBC/Minority): Government of Assam/central schemes. Covers tuition, maintenance allowance, books, etc. 

• Amounts vary ( full fee waiver + stipend for SC/ST). 
• Eligibility: Category certificate, income limits INR 2.5 lakh for OBC. Apply via NSP or Assam state portal.

Combined Merit Scholarship (Directorate of Higher Education, Assam): Merit-based for degree/PG students in recognized institutions. 

• Amount: INR 150–300 per month (or as revised). 
• Eligibility: High marks in qualifying exam.

Poor Fund Scholarship: Need-based aid from college for low-income students facing hardship. Limited funds; apply through college student welfare branch with proof of income/academic records.

Other schemes: Pragati for girls in technical education, Saksham for the specially-abled, Swanath (for orphans), ADF, Reliance Foundation UG Scholarship (up to INR 2 lakh total), and state merit scholarships. AICTE encourages use of these.
