Government Medical College Admission Process
Admission Process and Eligibility Criteria for all major programmes offered at Government Medical College. There is no direct admission or management quota at Government Medical College. All seats are filled strictly through NEET-based counselling.
1. MBBS Programme
Eligibility Criteria:
Must have passed Class 12 (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) and English.
Minimum marks: 50% aggregate in PCB for General category, 45% for OBC/EWS, and 40% for SC/ST categories.
Must be at least 17 years old as on 31st December of the admission year.
Must have qualified NEET-UG with the minimum required percentile.
Admission Process:
Admission is purely based on NEET-UG score and rank.
Candidates must participate in centralised counselling 15% All India Quota (AIQ) Conducted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). 85% Maharashtra State Quota Conducted by Maharashtra State CET Cell
Seat allotment is done through online choice filling and counselling rounds.
MD / MS / PG Diploma Programmes
Eligibility Criteria:
Must have completed MBBS degree from a college recognized by NMC.
Must have completed 1-year compulsory rotating internship.
Must have qualified NEET-PG.
Admission Process:
Admission is based on NEET-PG score and rank.
Counselling is conducted in two parts 50% All India Quota (AIQ) through MCC and 50% State Quota Through Maharashtra State CET Cell
Some DNB seats are also available.
Other Programmes (BPMT, PGDMLT, etc.)
Admission to paramedical and allied health courses (like BPMT, PGDMLT) is usually merit-based or through a separate entrance test / counselling conducted by the college or DMER Maharashtra.
