Admission Process and Eligibility Criteria for MBBS at Government Medical College for 2026:

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for MBBS admission at GMC, candidates must fulfill the following:

  • Must have completed 10+2 (HSC) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as compulsory subjects.

  • Minimum aggregate marks in PCB General Category 50% OBC/EWS: 45% and SC/ST: 40%

At Government Medical College, there is no separate placement cell like in engineering or management colleges. After completing the MBBS course, students undertake a compulsory one-year rotating internship at the attached GMC Hospital, where they receive a monthly stipend of around INR 18,000. Most graduates either join government health services as medical officers or prepare for NEET-PG for postgraduate studies. A few students also opt for jobs in private hospitals. Since it is a government medical college, the focus remains on clinical training and government job opportunities rather than campus placements.
