IISM Mumbai Admission Process

IISM ​The International Institute of Sports & Management in Mumbai offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in sports management and sports science. Admission to these programs is primarily entrance-based, involving a two-stage process designed to assess candidates' aptitude, knowledge, and passion for the sports industry.

Stage 1: Preliminary Assessment

• For Bachelor's Degree (BSM):
  • Essay Submission: Applicants are required to write an essay on a given topic, demonstrating their understanding and perspective on sports management.​
  • SMAT (Sports Management Admission Test): An online test evaluating candidates' quantitative analysis, data interpretation, logical reasoning, verbal ability, sports awareness, and general aptitude.​
    For Master's (MSM) and Postgraduate Programs (PGPs):
  • Caselets: Candidates receive four topics via email and have two days to submit their responses, each worth 20 marks. This exercise assesses problem-solving skills and industry awareness.​
    
    Stage 2: Personal Interview
  • Online Video-Call Interview: Shortlisted candidates from Stage 1 undergo a personal interview conducted via video call, evaluating communication skills, industry knowledge, and suitability for the program
    Selection Criteria:
  • Candidates must secure a minimum of 60% cumulative score from Stage 1 and Stage 2 to be eligible for admission.​
  • Final admission offers are extended based on performance across both stages.
