The Placement Cell at NIFD Hyderabad is an institute-managed support unit that focuses on career guidance and job assistance for students in diploma, advanced diploma and other offered programmes. It handles placements independently through direct industry connections, local networks, and student skill-building initiatives. 

The placement cell emphasises practical, hands-on training to make students job-ready or self-employment. It organises activities like mock interviews, portfolio reviews, grooming sessions, fashion shows, internal competitions, and industry interactions to build confidence and exposure. 

Responsibilities of Placement Cell:

• It prepares students through skill workshops, resume building, and interview practice
• It coordinates company visits, job fairs, and internship linkages.
• It supports career counselling for self-employment in the fashion sector.
• It maintains industry ties in Hyderabad’s growing textiles and retail market. 
• It includes both in-campus and off-campus placement drives.

NIFD Hyderabad offers limited but targeted scholarship support to make fashion and design education accessible, especially for deserving and economically challenged students. Unlike government institutions, it focuses on merit-based financial assistance through tests. Scholarships are not automatically considered and are granted on a competitive basis. 

Key Scholarship Details:

• Merit Scholarship/Scholarship Test Scheme: Offered to support talented students aspiring to pursue fashion design but facing financial constraints. To avail this benefit, students must appear for a Scholarship Test, which is conducted periodically. 
• Need-Based Fee Waiver: It offers need-based support for students from low-income families, primarily tied to merit test performance rather than pure means-tested schemes.
