National Institute of Fashion Technology Kolkata Admission Process

Educational Qualification (Eligibility):

  • For UG programs (B.Des/B.F.Tech): Students must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board with minimum required marks.
  • For PG programs (M.Des/M.F.M/M.F.Tech): Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline from a recognized university.
  • Accepted Entrance Exam: NIFT Entrance Exam followed by Situation Test for UG or GD/PI for PG).
  • Selection Process: Written exams (CAT+GAT) followed by Situation Test (for B.Des/B.F.Tech), Group Discussion/Personal Interview (for PG programs), and portfolio review where applicable.
  • Application Fee: INR 3000

National Institute of Fashion Technology Kolkata's financial strategy places student development as a key priority. A considerable sum from NIFT Development Fund is effectively put to use in this core area every year. To maximise the potential of its students, the institute's Means-cum-Merit Financial Assistance scheme allows students from humble backgrounds to avail subsidised tuition fees at every Campus. Determined by the parental income, students can fall into three slabs of monetary assistance. 

 

Many students in the past have benefited from this scheme. Further, many leading organisations from the apparel sector have come forward to encourage NIFT students in their academic and creative quest. Pioneers in the related field have instituted awards & scholarships, namely ITC, HomeShop 18 etc., to recognise and complement academic brilliance. This motivates the students from their first year of study.

  • Up to Rs. 2 Lakhs 100% of the Tuition Fee 
  • Above Rs. 2 Lakhs up to Rs. 4.0 Lakhs 75% of the Tuition Fee
