The Placement Cell at NIFT Patna supports career development for students. Like all other NIFT campuses, it follows a centralised placement system managed from the head office in New Delhi, enabling companies to recruit talent from the campus through a unified process. Top Recruiters are mostly from sectors like Apparel, Retail, International Brands, E-Commerce, Luxury, Designers, and many others. Some of the common roles offered are Fashion Designer, Merchandiser, Textile Designer, Brand Manager, Buyer, and  Stylist.

Recruitment Process: Companies register via NIFT’s Campus Management System (CMS). They recruit across campuses for roles in design, merchandising, retail, exports, branding, and allied fashion sectors. Process includes PPOs from internships/projects/graduation research.

Responsibilities of the Placement Cell:

• It prepares students via grooming sessions, portfolio reviews, mock interviews, resume building, and industry workshops.
• It coordinates mandatory internships which often lead to PPOs.
• It manages company interactions, interview scheduling, and ensures offers meet NIFT standards. 
• It focuses on industry readiness, especially in retail, ethnic wear, and emerging sectors relevant to Bihar/Eastern India’s craft heritage.

NIFT Patna offers various scholarship programmes and financial assistance through its centralised schemes under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. The primary institute-level scholarship is the ‘SARTHAK’ NIFT Financial Assistance Schemes, aimed at supporting deserving students from economically weaker backgrounds who are deprived of education due to a lack of financial resources. 

Key Scholarships and Schemes:

• SARTHAK NIFT Financial Assistance Scheme: To provide financial aid based on family income and merit/academic performance.
• UDAAN NIFT Scholarship Scheme for Foreign Studies: For regular students interested in short-term foreign exchange/summer programs abroad.
• Government and External Scholarships: This includes Central Sector Schemes, State-Specific, National Scholarship Portal for OBC/EWS/SC/ST/PwD.

Application Process: Scholarships are not automatic, students have to apply promptly via campus notice. Limited seats due to which priority is given to needy students with good academic record. It is mandatory to fulfil eligibility criterias while applying for scholarship benefits.
