
NLSIU Bangalore Admission 2026: Process, Eligibility & Selection Criteria
NLSIU Admission Process
Admission to NLSIU is highly competitive and entrance-based. The flagship BA LLB (Hons) and LLM programmes are filled through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). Other programmes such as the 3-year LLB (Hons), Master of Public Policy (MPP), and PhD are admitted through the university’s own entrance test called NLSAT.
Eligibility Criteria
BA LLB (Hons): 10+2 or equivalent with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD).
3-year LLB (Hons): Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum 45% marks (40% for reserved categories).
LLM: LLB degree with minimum 50% marks.
MPP: Bachelor’s degree with minimum required percentage. Final-year students can also apply.
Admission Process
Register and appear for the relevant entrance exam (CLAT or NLSAT).
Submit the application form on the respective portal (CLAT Consortium or NLSIU portal).
Shortlisting is done based on entrance test scores.
For some programmes, candidates may have to appear for interviews or writing tests.
Final merit list is prepared and seats are allotted through counselling.
Selected candidates must pay the admission fees and complete document verification to confirm their seat.
