RV College of Engineering Bangalore Admission 2026: Process, Eligibility & Selection Criteria

The admission process is very convenient; interested students can apply through the official website of the institute. RVCE offers B.E. in 15+ branches, including CSE, ISE, ECE, AI & ML, Cyber Security, Data Science, Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Biotechnology, etc.

BTech Eligibility: Pass 10+2 (2nd PUC or equivalent) with English as one language. Minimum aggregate required  45% in Physics & Mathematics (compulsory). SC/ST/OBC (Karnataka candidates) have to pass their 12th with 40% aggregate. Entrance Exams are KCET and COMEDK UGET. 

MTech Eligibility: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 50% aggregate (45% for reserved Karnataka categories).  Entrance Exams are GATE (preferred) or Karnataka PGCET.

MCA Eligibility - Bachelor's degree (50%/45% reserved); via PGCET/KMAT + KEA counselling.

Ph.D. Eligibility- Master's degree + VTU Entrance Test (UET/RAT) or exemption (GATE/UGC-NET)- Interview at RVCE Research Centre, VTU registration. Apply via the VTU portal, select the RVCE centre. 

Selection Criteria: Merit-based on entrance rank, followed by centralised counselling.

• KCET qualifiers: Participate in KCET counselling conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).
• COMEDK qualifiers: Participate in COMEDK counselling by the consortium.
• During counselling: Fill choices (college + branch), seats allotted based on rank, preferences, and availability.

• Cutoffs are highly competitive (recent trends: CSE closes at very low ranks like 500 in KCET, 1000 in COMEDK, for the general category).

• Appear for KCET 2026 (registration started Jan 17, 2026; exam expected April 2026) or COMEDK UGET 2026 (registration expected Feb 2026; exam May 2026).
• Qualify and register for respective counselling (KEA portal for KCET; COMEDK portal for COMEDK).
• Fill choices, attend document verification/option entry rounds.
• Seat allotment in multiple rounds; report to RVCE for confirmation and fee payment.
• For Management/NRI quota: Apply directly via RVCE website (procedure and fees detailed in circulars; requires valid entrance rank in some cases).
