Shyam Lal College has an active and dedicated Placement Cell, which works for the recruitment of its students. The main endeavour of the college’s Placement Cell is to get students placed in reputed MNCs, government jobs, NGO’s and the private sector. All students registered with the Cell are entitled to placement assistance, counselling for employment and even self- employment. The Training & Placement Cell also assures support to the visiting companies at every stage of the recruitment process by making the college infrastructure available to them.

The Training & Placement Cell acts as an interface between the industry and the students and primarily enables the students to select a career of their choice from among available options. It facilitates the selection process of all the companies as per their requirement. It makes connections with corporations/organisations to provide suitable jobs for the candidates completing their studies from the college. It also liaises for all those activities and issues assigned to it by the Principal.

Their main objectives are:

• Identification of students’ potential and mapping their competencies.
• Cataloguing the database of students (their specialisation, interest and academic performance).
• Providing interlink for the enthusiastic talent ready to explore new horizons alongside the growing requirement of the corporate world.
• Working as a platform for moulding the students according to the requirements of the corporate world and R&D Departments
• Designing a web-based job-search portal for the University of Delhi.
• Carrying out career counselling for students.

Shyam Lal College offers scholarship facilities to students to support deserving students who are financially not in good condition. They also encourage students with good academics who possess talent through various awards and prizes.
