Sinhgad Institute of Business Management Admission Process

Admission Process at Sinhgad Institute of Business Management (SIBM), Mumbai (primarily for the flagship MMS 2-year full-time postgraduate program, affiliated to University of Mumbai and AICTE-approved follows the centralised Maharashtra state process via DTE Maharashtra, combined with institute-level options. Admissions for 2026 are ongoing or upcoming. 

 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree (minimum 3 years) in any discipline from a recognised university.
  • Minimum 50% aggregate marks in graduation (45% for reserved categories SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD belonging to Maharashtra State).
  • Final-year graduation students can apply provisionally (must meet criteria by completion and provide proof).
  • Indian citizenship required; work experience is preferred but not mandatory.

 

Accepted Entrance Exams

  • MAH MBA CET (primarily for Maharashtra state seats conducted by State CET Cell).
  • National-level exams: CATCMATMATATMAXAT
  • No separate institute entrance test; scores from above are considered.

 

Stepwise Admission Process (2026 Session)

Appear for Entrance Exam- Register and take MAH MBA CET (main) or other accepted exams (CAT/CMAT/MAT/ATMA/XAT).

Apply Online

  • Visit official website or DTE Maharashtra portal
  • Fill the application/enquiry form (online registration).
  • Upload documents (mark sheets, entrance scorecard, ID proof, category certificate if applicable).
  • Pay the application fee of INR 800 to INR 1,000
  • Submit and note the reference number.

 

  • CAP Counselling (State Seats)- Register on DTE portal after results; participate in choice filling, seat allotment rounds (multiple CAP rounds).
  • Institute-Level/Management Quota- Apply directly via college site if seats remain; may involve GD/PI at institute.
  • Document Verification & Confirmation- Report to the allotted institute with originals; pay fees to confirm the seat.
  • Join Program- Attend orientation and start classes.

 

Selection Criteria

  • Merit-based and entrance-driven (holistic).
  • Primary weightage on valid entrance exam score (MAH MBA CET percentile for state seats).
  • Shortlisted candidates participate in Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) (conducted during CAP or institute level).
  • Final merit list considers entrance score + GD/PI performance + academic record (graduation marks, 10+2, etc.).
  • Seats allocated via Centralised Admission Process (CAP) rounds by DTE Maharashtra (multiple rounds for state quota); remaining seats through institute-level/management quota.
