The cell for Placement of Zakir Husain College has been set up with the aim of offering the students a sense of direction and an exposure to the range of openings and job possibilities available to them. The Placement Cell does not limit itself to becoming the run-of-the-mill ‘placement’ centre where students may just get connected with possible employers. The objective of setting up the cell also includes the idea of preparing students to launch into the next phase of life confidently and equip them with the ability to use and connect ‘learning’ with the living of life. 

The Placement Cell has worked in association with Times Education, Career Launcher, and Indian Express. It has also organised the interaction of final year students with experts from diverse areas. It also arranged for grooming sessions for the students to prepare them for group discussions and personal interviews. These involved language modules, personality assessment tests and interactive sessions.

The Zakir Husain Delhi College offers scholarship programmes to help deserving students. More information regarding the scholarships is mentioned below:

Mirza Mahmood Beg Memorial Scholarship - Three scholarships of the value of Rs. 1400 each are awarded annually to the undergraduates who secure the highest percentage of marks in the college at the final year University examination in:

• Humanities and Social Sciences stream, including Psychology, but excluding Mathematics
• Science stream, including B.A. & B.Sc. (Hons.) courses in Mathematics 
• Commerce stream 

Sri Narain Nigam Memorial Scholarship - There are three scholarships for the following categories of students obtaining the highest percentage of marks in the college at the second-year University examination. 

• Rs. 700 for a visually handicapped student
• Rs. 1100 for Humanities and Social Sciences stream, including Psychology and Commerce stream, but excluding B.A. (Hons.) Mathematics 
• Rs. 1100 for Science stream, including B.A./B.Sc. (Hons.) in Mathematics 

Ved Kumar Gupta Memorial Scholarship - One scholarship of the value of Rs. 1100 to a student securing the highest percentage of marks in college in the second year B.A. (Hons.) University examination in Political Science.
