The results for the CAT 2025 (Common Admission Test) have been officially announced on 24 December 2025. All the aspirants can check the result from the official website of IIT CAT, iimcat.ac.in.

How to Check and Download CAT Scorecard:

• Visit the official website: iimcat.ac.in
• Log in using your CAT ID and password.
• View your scorecard, including section-wise scores, overall percentile, and rank.
• Download and save/print your scorecard (it will be valid till December 31, 2027).

IIM Selection Process:

The admission process for the IIMs for batch 2026-28 is primarily based on CAT 2025 scores. There are 21 IIMs and all of them have independent selection criteria, though newer IIMs often participate in coordinated processes like the CAP (Common Admission Process) or Joint Admission Process (JAP). The process is broadly divided into two main stages:

• Shortlisting for Written Ability Test (WAT)/Personal Interview
• Final Selection

Stage 01: Shortlisting for Written Ability Test (WAT)/Personal Interview:

After CAT 2025 results, candidates are shortlisted on the basis of:

• CAT overall and selectional percentiles
• Academic Performance
• Work Experience (quality and duration)
• Diversity factors such as gender, academic background

Stage 02: WAT/GD/PI Rounds:

2nd stage includes one of these or all of them depending on selection criteria:

• Written Ability Test (WAT) includes essay writing on a given topic.
• Group Discussion (GD) is rare now as most IIMs have dropped it.
• Personal Interview (PI) includes focuses on profile, academics, work experience, current affairs, and goals.

Final Merit List:

It is prepared in April-May 2026 based on a composite score including

• CAT score (30-60% weightage).
• WAT/PI performance (30-50%).
• Academics, work experience, diversity (remaining weightage).
