JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Registration: Live & Latest Updates

As of January 27, 2026, the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 (April attempt) registration is not yet live on the official NTA website. :

  • Expected Start Date: Last week of January 2026 (likely from January 28–31, 2026 onwards, based on tentative schedule).
  • Tentative Last Date: Third week of February 2026 (exact dates will be confirmed once live).
  • Exam Dates for Session 2: April 2 to April 9/10, 2026 (tentative, between 01–10 April as per advisory).
  • Official Link: Once live, the registration form will be available at https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/ (direct application portal).

     

Current Status:

  • Session 1 (January 2026) registration closed in November 2025, exam ongoing (January 21–30, 2026), admit cards and city intimation live.
  • Session 2 registration is expected to open very soon (possibly in the next few days, as today is January 27).
  • Check the official site daily for the "Apply Online" or "Session 2 Registration" link under Candidate Activity/Public Notices.

How to Fill the JEE Main 2026 Application Form (Step-by-Step Process)

(Once the link activates at jeemain.nta.nic.in; same process as Session 1):

  1. Visit https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/ and click on the active link for "JEE (Main) 2026 Session 2 – Apply Online" or "New Registration".
  2. Register by providing basic details: Name, mobile number, email ID, date of birth, and create a password (OTP verification via mobile/email).
  3. Log in with your application number and password.
  4. Fill personal details: Father's/Mother's/Guardian's name, category (General/OBC/SC/ST/EWS), gender, nationality, PwD status, etc.
  5. Enter academic details: Class 10/12 qualifying exam details, marks/percentage, year of passing/appearing, school/college name.
  6. Choose exam details: Select preferred exam cities (4 options), medium of question paper (English/Hindi/regional), and any special provisions.
  7. Upload scanned documents (specifications: JPG/JPEG, size limits as per portal):
    • Recent passport-size photograph (10–200 KB, white background).
    • Signature (4–30 KB).
    • Left-hand thumb impression (if applicable).
    • Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS) if claiming reservation (issued on/after April 1, 2025 for EWS/OBC).
    • PwD/Disability certificate if applicable.
    • Class 12 marksheet/certificate (if passed).
  8. Pay the application fee online (net banking, debit/credit card, UPI):

     

    • Fee Updates:
      • General/OBC/EWS (Boys): ₹1000
      • General/OBC/EWS (Girls): ₹800
      • SC/ST/PwD/Transgender: ₹500
      • For B.E./B.Tech + B.Arch/B.Planning: Additional ₹500–₹600 (boys/girls).
      • Fee is non-refundable; pay per session (separate for Session 2 if not applied in Session 1).
  9. Preview the form, make corrections if needed (correction window opens later), and submit.
  10. Download and print the confirmation page for records.

     

Important Tips:

  • Use Aadhaar authentication where possible (for name/DOB/gender/address auto-fill).
  • If name mismatch with Aadhaar/Class 10 certificate, follow NTA advisory (option provided during form fill).
  • Candidates who appeared in Session 1 can apply again for Session 2 (best of two scores considered).
  • Eligibility: Passed/appearing in Class 12 (2024/2025/2026) with Physics, Mathematics + one of Chemistry/Biology/Biotech/Technical Vocational.
  • No limit on attempts (up to age/eligibility norms).
