NEET PG 2025 Counselling Live Updates: Round-03 Choice Filling extended, Seat Allotment Result & Key Details

Posted by: Anupriya

Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is currently processing Round-3 of NEET PG 2025 counselling for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, 100% seats in Deemed/Central Universities, and Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS). This round is crucial for qualified candidates seeking MD/MS/PG Diploma seats, especially those who missed earlier rounds or seek upgrades.

Latest Key Updates

  • Choice Filling Extension: The MCC has extended the choice filling/locking deadline for Round-3 (due to seat matrix changes, additions/deletions of seats). Candidates who registered can now fill and lock preferences in order of priority.
  •
  • Registration Deadline: Closed on January 26, 2026 (up to 12:00 noon for registration/payment; choice filling extended till late January 26, 2026, around 11:55 PM in some notices).
  •
  • Seat Allotment Result: Expected to be declared on January 29, 2026. The result will be uploaded as a downloadable PDF on the official MCC website (mcc.nic.in). It includes allotments based on choices, NEET PG rank, reservations, and seat availability.
  •
  • Seat Matrix: Revised with additions (e.g., 292 new seats reported), clear vacancies (~10,101), and virtual vacancies (18,076). This led to the extension for fair choice declaration.
  •
  • Reporting Dates: Allotted candidates must report to the college (with original documents for verification) between January 30 and February 6, 2026 (approximate; confirm exact on MCC site). Failure to report may cancel the seat. No further upgradation/exit after Round-3.
  •

Important Notes

  • Only NEET PG 2025 qualified candidates (as per revised cutoffs, including relaxed percentiles for some categories) are eligible. The cutoff revision (e.g., negative scores for SC/ST) sparked debate and a Supreme Court petition, but authorities justified it for better seat filling.
  • After Round-3, a Stray Vacancy Round may follow for the remaining seats.
  • All processes are online via mcc.nic.in. Candidates should log in to their dashboard for status, download allotment letters, and follow instructions.
