Admissions to UVCE are strictly entrance-based and merit-oriented, conducted through centralised counselling by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). There is no management quota or direct admission. The process follows Government of Karnataka reservation policies, with seats allocated based on entrance ranks, category, and preferences. As of the recent admission process, KCET/PGCET counselling rounds may be ongoing or recently concluded. 

Online admission process for UG and PG programs:

• Step 1. Qualify Entrance Exam: Appear for the relevant exam (KCET for UG, PGCET/GATE for PG).
• Step 2. Register for Counselling: Via KEA portal cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea, pay processing fee (INR 750).
• Step 3. Option Entry & Seat Allotment: Enter preferences; seats allotted in multiple rounds (including mock allotment).
• Step 4. Document Verification & Fee Payment: Report to allotted college (UVCE) with originals; pay fees via KEA.
• Step 5. Final Admission: Complete formalities at UVCE (City or Jnana Bharathi campus as applicable).

Eligibility & Selection Criteria by Program 

Important Notes

• Domicile Requirement- For government quota seats, candidates typically need Karnataka domicile/study history (min. 7 years in state schools).
• Reservations- As per Karnataka Govt. norms (SC/ST/OBC/Minority, etc.); fee reimbursements/scholarships available via state portals.
• Documents Required- KCET/PGCET/GATE/NATA scorecard, 10th/12th/Graduation marksheets, caste/income certificate (if applicable), study certificates, ID proof, and photos.
• No Extra Fees at UVCE- Only pay through KEA during allotment.
• Lateral Entry: Possible for diploma holders via DCET (separate process).
