AMET University Chennai Admission 2026: Process, Eligibility & Selection Criteria

AMET University offers undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programmes in maritime studies, engineering, management, and applied sciences. Admissions are based on academic performance, entrance exam scores, and other eligibility requirements, depending on the course. The university conducts its own AMET Common Entrance Test (AMET CET) for most UG courses. Some PG courses may also consider national-level entrance exams and academic merit.

Eligibility Criteria for UG Programmes (B.E/B.Tech, B.Sc Nautical Science, BBA, etc.)

• Candidate must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognised board.

Eligibility Criteria for PG Programmes (M.Tech, M.Sc, MBA, etc.)

• Candidate must hold a relevant bachelor’s degree with a minimum 55% aggregate marks. 

Admission Process:

1. Apply Online – Fill the application form on the AMET University official portal and pay the application fee.

2. Entrance Test / Merit Evaluation – Appear for the AMET CET (for most UG courses) or meet PG course criteria.

3. Shortlisting – Candidates are shortlisted based on entrance scores and/or academic performance.

4. Document Verification – Submit certificates including mark sheets, identity proof, and medical/fitness certificates (for maritime courses).

5. Seat Confirmation – Pay the fees to confirm admission and receive the final admission letter.
