Al-Azhar Medical College and Super Speciality Hospital Idukki Admission 2026: Process, Eligibility & Selection Criteria

Admission Process and Eligibility Criteria for all courses at Al-Azhar Medical College and Super Speciality Hospital, Thodupuzha (as per 2026 admissions). All seats (including Management & NRI) are allotted strictly through NEET UG rank + Kerala CEE counselling. No direct admission is possible.

MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery)

Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidate must have completed 17 years of age on or before 31 December of the admission year (no upper age limit).

• Must have passed 10+2 / Higher Secondary with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as core subjects.

• Minimum marks in PCB: 50% for General category, 40% for SC/ST/OBC, 45% for PwD candidates.

• Must qualify NEET UG with the minimum required percentile set by NMC.

Admission Process:

1. Appear and qualify NEET UG 2026.

2. Register for Kerala State Counselling conducted by Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala.

3. Participate in counselling for: State Merit / Government Quota seats, Management Quota seats and NRI Quota seats

4. Fill choices, attend document verification, and pay fees to confirm the seat.

5. Report to the college for admission formalities and joining.

MD / MS Postgraduate Programmes

Eligibility Criteria:

• Must possess an MBBS degree from an NMC-recognised medical college.

• Must have completed 1-year compulsory internship (by the cutoff date specified for that year, usually 31 March or 30 September).

• Minimum 50% marks in MBBS (relaxation as per category norms).

• Must qualify NEET PG conducted by NBEMS.

Admission Process:

1. Qualify NEET PG 2026.

2. Participate in: Kerala State PG Counselling (CEE Kerala) for State & Management quota seats. MCC All India Quota Counselling (if applicable).

3. Seat allotment based on NEET PG rank, category, and quota.

4. Complete document verification and fee payment.

Important Points for All Courses

• No separate entrance test is conducted by the college. Admission is purely based on NEET UG (MBBS) and NEET PG (MD/MS).

• Documents Required (common): NEET scorecard, 10th & 12th mark sheets, MBBS degree & internship certificate (for PG), caste/income certificate (if applicable), transfer certificate, migration certificate, etc.

• Hostel: Compulsory for most students (separate for boys and girls).

• Internship Stipend: Provided during the 1-year MBBS internship as per Kerala Government norms.
