Amala Institute of Medical Sciences Thrissur Admission 2026: Process, Eligibility & Selection Criteria

MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery - 5.5 years)

• Must be at least 17 years old as of December 31 of the admission year.

• Passed Class 12 (10+2) or equivalent from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as compulsory subjects.

• Minimum 50% aggregate marks in Physics + Chemistry + Biology.

• Must qualify NEET-UG with a valid score and All India Rank.

MD (Doctor of Medicine) / MS (Master of Surgery) (3 years)

• Must hold an MBBS degree from an NMC-recognised medical college/institution.

• Must have completed the compulsory rotating medical internship (CRMI) by the cutoff date specified by NMC/MCC/CEE.

• Must be registered with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or any State Medical Council.

• Must qualify NEET-PG with a valid score and All India Rank.

Selection Criteria: NEET-UG score + Kerala state counselling (CEE) or MCC for management/NRI quota

How to apply:

• Qualify NEET-UG 2026 Register and appear for NEET-UG (conducted by NTA; registration usually opens Feb/March, exam in May). Secure a qualifying score and download your scorecard after results (around June).

• Register for Counselling

• Fill Choices and Participate in Rounds Log in to the counseling portal, fill and lock your choices (prioritize Amala Institute of Medical Sciences, Thrissur, and select your quota: state merit, management, minority, or NRI). CEE/MCC conducts multiple rounds (Round 1, 2, mop-up, stray vacancy). Wait for seat allotment based on your NEET rank, choices, and category.

• Download Allotment Letter and Report to College: If allotted a seat at Amala, download the allotment letter from the portal. Report to the college admissions office (Amala Nagar P.O., Thrissur) within the given deadline (usually 7-10 days). Carry originals and copies of required documents.

Complete Admission Formalities: Pay the required fees, undergo any medical check-up if needed, and confirm your seat. Receive admission confirmation, join orientation, and start classes (usually August/September). Hostel allocation follows.
