Armed Forces Medical College Admission Process
Armed Forces Medical College Pune has a completely different admission route from civilian medical colleges.
It is only for those willing to serve as commissioned officers in the Indian Armed Forces Medical Services.
No management/NRI seats, no state counselling, pure merit + military screening. The process for 2026 cycle (based on NEET-UG 2026) is as follows:
MBBS: Qualify NEET-UG 2026 conducted by NTA
After NEET result (usually June), register online using your NEET roll number and details (exact dates notified after NEET).
AFMC releases shortlist based on NEET score.
Shortlisted candidates report to AFMC Pune in batches for full screening:
Final merit list (NEET weightage highest + ToELR + Interview) published.
Selected candidates report for admission, pay fees, sign 7-year service bond (βΉ69 lakh penalty if broken), parents/guardians also sign, and join. Commissioned as Lieutenant after an internship.
