BPS Govt. Medical College for Women is a government medical college, so the focus is not on traditional campus placements. Instead, it emphasises compulsory clinical training, a structured 1-year internship, and career guidance for post-MBBS opportunities such as PG courses (NEET-PG), government jobs, private hospitals, or research.

Internship

• Duration: 1 year (mandatory after 4.5 years of MBBS; part of the 5.5-year course).

• Where: At the attached BPS Government Hospital (teaching hospital on campus) + postings in rural/urban health centres as per NMC guidelines.

• Departments: Rotations in Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Community Medicine, Orthopedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, etc.

• Stipend: INR 17,000 – INR 22,000 per month. Most students report around INR 17,000–20,000.

• Purpose: Hands-on clinical training, patient management, and eligibility for permanent registration with the Medical Council.

• 100% of MBBS students complete this internship at the college hospital itself. Separate "Internship Cell"- it is managed by the Dean, Medical Superintendent, and respective departments.
