The Training and Placement cell is an integral part of Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology (GTBIT) and operates with a high degree of professionalism. It plays a pivotal role in identifying job opportunities for young engineers graduating from GTBIT by liaising with reputed industrial organisations. GTBIT aims to provide these students with a platform to unleash their potential and groom them into young professionals.

It has always aimed to provide data to the corporate sector about candidates available for placement, aligning with their specific requirements. Throughout the year, training activities are organised with the primary goal of enhancing students’ capabilities in today’s competitive technical environment, focusing on technical expertise and effective interpersonal skills.

It acts as an interface between the institute and corporate entities by inviting them to the campus, where eligible students undergo the entire selection process. The process is governed by the student's abilities and performance as well as the requirements and norms of the industry.

Objectives of the Placement Cell:

• Keep the students abreast of potential job opportunities and help them make prudent decisions for their future careers.

• Maintaining and regularly updating the database of students and establishing strategic links for campus recruitments.

• Identifying the needs and expectations of the companies and assisting them in recruiting the most suitable candidates.

• Provide equal opportunities for all the students accordingly.

• Ensuring sustainable employment for all the students Creating awareness regarding new technologies and the latest demands of the market and job requirements of various companies among all the students.

• Sharpening the technical, analytical and creative talents inherent in our students, thus enabling them to make key strategic decisions in an increasingly complex corporate environment.

GTBIT offers scholarships based on merit, financial need, and category. Minority scholarships (especially for Sikh students via DSGMC quota) are available, along with government schemes through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) for SC/ST/OBC/EWS. Institute-level aid and merit awards help deserving students, with some covering 25-50% of fees based on performance and eligibility.
