Eligibility Criteria:-
- B.Tech - Students must have passed the 12th board, and Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are the mandatory subjects with 75% marks. 65% aggregate marks for the SC/ST students. Students must qualify for JEE Advanced and JoSAA counselling.
- B.Arch - Students must have passed the 12th board, and Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics are the mandatory subjects with 75% marks. 65% aggregate marks for the SC/ST students. Students must qualify for the Architecture Aptitude Test after JEE Advanced.
- M.Tech - Students must have a B.Tech/B.E. or any equivalent degree with 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA. Students must qualify for GATE and COAP counselling.
- M.Sc - Students must have a bachelor’s degree with 55% marks and 50% for the SC/ST Students. Students must qualify for the IIT JAM.
- MBA - Students must have a bachelor’s or a master’s degree in engineering, technology, science, commerce, economics, or mathematics with 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA. Students must qualify for the CAT and a personal interview.
- PhD - Students must have a master’s degree (M.Tech, M.Sc, MBA, MA) with 60% marks or a B.Tech/B.E. from IITs with 70% marks or 7.5 CGPA. Students must qualify for the GATE/NET/JRF along with an Interview.
Selection process of admission 2026:-
For UG programmes:
- Students must clear JEE Main registration and qualify for the exam.
- Qualification through JEE Main allows entry to the JEE Advanced, which is essential for the IIT admission.
- Students must qualify for the JoSAA counselling after qualifying for the exam.
- IIT Kharagpur seats are allocated based on category reservations, academic qualification, and preferred choice.
- For B.Arch admission, students must qualify for the AAT.
For PG programmes:
- Students applying for M.Tech must qualify for the GATE exam and apply through COAP Counselling.
