Madurai Kamaraj University Madurai Admission 2026: Process, Eligibility & Selection Criteria

Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) offers admissions primarily on a merit basis for most undergraduate and postgraduate programs. For professional and select PG courses, admissions are based on entrance examinations such as TANCET, university-level entrance tests, or national-level scores.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Undergraduate (UG) Programs: Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised board with relevant subjects. The minimum marks requirement is generally 50% (45% for SC/ST candidates).

• Postgraduate (PG) Programs: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates).

• MBA/MCA: Bachelor’s degree with required minimum marks + valid entrance exam score (TANCET / CAT / MAT, etc.).

• M.Sc / Other Science Courses: Bachelor’s degree in the concerned subject with a minimum required percentage.

Admission Process:

• Visit the official admission portal.

• Register and create a login ID using a valid email and mobile number.

• Fill out the online application form with personal, academic, and other required details.

• Upload scanned copies of necessary documents (10th/12th marksheets, UG marksheets, community certificate, photograph, signature, etc.).

• Pay the application fee online.

• Submit the application and download the acknowledgement.

• Appear for the entrance exam (if applicable for the chosen course).

• Check the merit list or counselling schedule released by the university.

• Attend counselling (if required) and complete document verification.

• Pay the admission fee and confirm your seat.
