NIT Hamirpur has an active Training & Placement Cell that offers campus recruitments, internships, and career development. It provides pre-placement training, skill enhancement workshops, and alumni networking. Placements are particularly strong in IR, core engineering, and consulting sectors. The highest CTC offered to students in the recruitment drive is INR 2.05 CPA, and the average package offered is INR 10 LPA. 

Key Activities of Placement Cell:

• It conducts regular workshops on resume building, aptitude tests, coding practice, soft skills development, communication skills, group discussions, and personal interview preparation. This includes mock interviews, one-on-one sessions, and hands-on exposure to build confidence.
• It organises guest lectures, seminars, pre-placement talks (PPTs), and industry visits. Companies introduce their profiles, job roles, and culture during these sessions.
• It facilitates summer internships (often starting from the 5th/6th semester) and mandatory projects. Many internships lead to Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs). CCD explores opportunities and coordinates with recruiters.
• It manages the entire placement process: Invites companies with Job Notification Forms (JNF), schedules drives (on-campus or virtual), handles registrations, and coordinates selection processes. Placements typically start from the 8th semester for UG students.

NIT Hamirpur offers various scholarships to support meritorious and economically disadvantaged students, including institute-level, government, and private schemes. The institute actively promotes application through the Student Welfare Office and National Scholarship Portal (NSP). These scholarships are provided with the aim to reduce financially burden, especially for SC/ST and low-income students.
