NIT Silchar has a Training & Placement Cell that is a proactive Student-centric department. It facilitates placements, internships, and skill development for students. It acts as a bridge between students and recruiters, emphasising overall personality development, professional excellence, and societal contribution. 

Students get shortlisted and getan offer from companies based on their academic performance, experiences, skills, and interview performance. They get offers from various recruiters such as Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte, Cisco, SAP Labs, TCS, Infosys, Accenture, L&T, ITC, Amul, and others. 

Key Functions and Activities of Placement Cell:

• The placement cell provides Pre-Placement Training by organising workshops, mock interviewsm GD/PI sessions, aptitude tests, resume building, soft skills training and other technical preparation to enhance employability.
• The cell provides internships to students with reputed companies offering good stipends. Many of these opportunities lead to pre-placement offers.
• It handles the Campus Recruitment Process and conducts placement drives.
• The industry hosts pre-placement discussions, guest lectures, and corporate interactions. Students coordinate with the recruiters during visits.
