Students studying MBBS at Prakash Institute of Medical Sciences & Research can apply for different scholarship and fee concession schemes provided by the Government of Maharashtra. These schemes are mainly meant for students who take admission through the state counselling process based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG).

• Post-Matric Scholarship for SC and ST Students: Students belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories can apply for the Post-Matric Scholarship. Under this scheme, the state government generally pays most of the tuition fees approved for the MBBS course. In many cases, students only need to pay hostel or other personal expenses. A valid caste certificate, caste validity certificate, and income certificate are required while applying.

• Scholarship for OBC Category: Students from the Other Backward Class (OBC) category can receive tuition fee support from the Maharashtra government. The scheme usually covers a part of the tuition fee depending on the student’s income and eligibility. Students must submit an OBC certificate, income certificate, and domicile certificate during the application process.

• VJ, NT and SBC Category Concession: Students from VJ (Vimukta Jati), NT (Nomadic Tribes), and SBC categories can also receive financial assistance. These schemes normally provide about 50 percent fee concession if the family income is within the limit set by the state government.

• Economically Backward Class (EBC) Fee Concession: Students from the open category whose family income is within the government limit can apply for EBC benefits. This scheme usually allows around 50 percent reduction in tuition fees for eligible candidates.

• Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Benefit: Students with an EWS certificate can take admission under the EWS quota and may receive certain fee benefits according to government rules.
