Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences Jalandhar Admission 2026: Process, Eligibility & Selection Criteria

Admissions at Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) are primarily entrance-based through national/state-level exams and centralised counselling.

Eligibility Criteria (Focus on MBBS, the flagship programme):

• Candidates must have completed 10+2 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB), and English as main subjects.

• Minimum aggregate marks in PCB: 50% for the general category; 40% for the SC/ST/OBC categories (as per NMC/NEET guidelines).

• Age: Minimum 17 years as of December 31 of the admission year (no upper age limit in most cases).

• Must qualify NEET-UG with the required percentile

How to Apply at Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS):

1. Appear for and qualify for the relevant entrance exam: Register and take NEET-UG (conducted by NTA) for MBBS. Score must meet the qualifying cutoff.

2. Register for counselling: After NEET results, register on the official BFUHS counselling portal during the notified window. Pay the registration fee.
