S.A. Engineering College- SAEC Chennai Admission 2026: Process, Eligibility & Selection Criteria

S.A. Engineering College (SAEC), Chennai (Autonomous, affiliated to Anna University), offers admissions to B.E./B.Tech, M.E., MBA, and MCA programmes for the 2026-27 academic session. Admissions for undergraduate engineering programmes are conducted through the centralised Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counselling based on Class 12 marks. Postgraduate admissions are primarily through TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test) followed by TANCA counselling.

For B.E./B.Tech (UG Programmes):

• Passed HSC (10+2) or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.

• Minimum aggregate: 45% in PCM for General category; 40% for the BC/MBC/DNC/SC/ST categories.

• Lateral Entry (Direct 2nd Year): Diploma in relevant branch with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved categories) or B.Sc. with Mathematics.

For M.E. (PG Engineering):

• Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for reserved categories).

• Valid TANCET or GATE score.

For MBA:

• Any bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates).

• Valid score in TANCET / CAT / MAT.

For MCA:

• Any bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% marks.

• Must have studied mathematics at the 10+2 level or as one of the subjects in graduation.

• Valid TANCET score.
  

Admission Process:

For B.E./B.Tech (UG):

1. Register and apply through the official TNEA portal.

2. Fill out the online application, upload documents, and pay the fee.

3. Participate in certificate verification at TFC (TNEA Facilitation Centre).

4. Choice filling → Rank list publication → Seat allotment through multiple rounds of counselling.

5. Report to SAEC with the allotment letter and original documents for admission confirmation.

For PG Programmes (M.E./MBA/MCA):

1. Appear for TANCET (conducted by Anna University).

2. Register for TANCA counselling.

3. Choice filling and seat allotment.

4. Report to the college for document verification and fee payment.
