SMBT Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre Admission Process

Admission to the MBBS course atSMBT Institute of Medical Sciences & Research is based on performance in the NEET-UG examination. Candidates must meet the eligibility requirements set by the National Medical Commission. After qualifying the entrance examination, students participate in the counselling process conducted by the state authorities or the All India counselling system. Seat allotment is based on rank, category, and seat availability.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.

  • Minimum Marks: 

  • General Category: 50% aggregate in PCB

  • Reserved Category: 40% aggregate in PCB

  • Age: Must be 17 years or older as of December 31 of the admission year.

  • NEET Qualification: Candidates must qualify NEET-UG to be eligible.

Entrance Examination

  • NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Undergraduate) is mandatory.

  • The exam assesses knowledge in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

  • Admission is based on NEET rank and percentile.

Counselling Process

State Quota Seats (85%)

  • SMBT falls under the Maharashtra State Quota.

  • Eligible candidates must register for the CAP (Centralized Admission Process) conducted by the Maharashtra State CET Cell.

  • Candidates fill their preferred colleges and courses online.

  • Seats are allotted based on NEET rank, category, and seat availability.

All India Quota Seats (15%)

  • Candidates can also apply through AIQ counselling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

  • Similar process: online registration, choice filling, and seat allotment.

NRI / Management Quota (If Applicable)

  • A few seats may be reserved for NRI or management category.

  • Admission is still based on NEET-UG score.

Fee Payment and Admission Confirmation

  • After verification, candidates must pay the course fees as per their category and quota.

  • Once fees are paid, the admission is confirmed, and the student can start attending classes.

Commencement of Classes

  • The academic year generally begins as per MUHS Nashik schedule.

  • Students undergo classroom teaching, lab sessions, and clinical training at the attached hospital.
