Admission to undergraduate engineering programmes at SJCE is mainly through KCET for Karnataka students and COMEDK UGET for students from other states. Seats are allotted via counselling conducted by KEA or COMEDK. Management quota seats are available for direct admission. Postgraduate admissions are based on GATE or Karnataka PGCET scores. Candidates need to meet basic eligibility of 10+2 with PCM for UG courses.
Eligibility Criteria for UG and PG Courses:-
BTech: Complete 10+2 / PUC with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology. Secure minimum 45% aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates).
MBA/ MCA/ MTech: Complete the relevant bachelor’s degree with minimum required percentage (usually 50%, 45% for reserved categories).
For B.E./B.Tech (Undergraduate Programmes)
- Check Eligibility and Appear for Entrance Exam: Karnataka students appear for KCET (conducted by KEA). Students from other states Appear for COMEDK UGET. JEE Main scores are also considered in some cases.
- Register for Counselling: KCET candidates Register on the KEA official website. COMEDK candidates have to register on the COMEDK portal for counselling.
- Document Verification: Upload all required documents online and attend physical or online verification as per the schedule.
- Choice Filling & Seat Allotment: Fill your preferred branches and colleges in order of priority. Seats are allotted based on your rank, category, and availability.
- Seat Acceptance & Fee Payment: Accept the allotted seat, pay the prescribed fees, and download the admission order.
- Reporting to College: Report to SJCE Mysore with original documents for final admission confirmation.
For M.Tech / MCA / MBA (Postgraduate Programmes)
- Complete the relevant bachelor’s degree with minimum required percentage (usually 50%, 45% for reserved categories).
- Appear for GATE (for M.Tech) or Karnataka PGCET / KMAT (for MCA/MBA).
- Register for KEA counselling.
- Participate in choice filling, seat allotment, and document verification.
- Pay fees and report to the college.
