Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE), Madurai, an autonomous government-aided institution affiliated with Anna University, follows a structured, merit-based admission process for the 2025-2026 academic year

Eligibility Criteria:

• For B.E./B.Tech: Passed 10+2 (HSC or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as compulsory subjects. Minimum aggregate marks: 45% (40% for reserved categories like BC/BCM/MBC/SC/ST). 

• For B.Arch: 10+2 with Mathematics, minimum 50% aggregate, and qualified in NATA

• For M.E./M.Tech: Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech) in relevant discipline with a minimum of 50% (45% for reserved categories). 

• For MCA: Bachelor's degree (10+2+3 pattern) with Mathematics at 10+2 or degree level. 

• For M.Plan: Relevant bachelor's with 50% (45% reserved).

Admission Process:

The common admission process at Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE), Madurai, follows Tamil Nadu's centralised, merit-based systems for most seats (government quota/aided), with limited management quota options. 

1. Application Filling & Document Upload — Log in and fill in personal, academic (Class 10/12 marks, school details from 6th–12th), community, income, and special reservation details. 2. Certificate Verification — Uploaded docs verified online at TNEA Facilitation Centres (TFCs). Sports certificates may require in-person verification in Chennai.

3. Random Number & Rank List Publication — Random number assigned for ties. A merit/rank list prepared from normalised PCM marks. Overall community ranks are published on the portal. 1-week grievance window (contact DoTE/TFCs).

4. Choice Filling (Counselling Rounds) — Log in during your rank-based round. Fill preferences: Select TCE (code often 5008) and branches. Unlimited choices; order matters. 2–3 days per round for filling.

5. Tentative Allotment — The system allots based on rank, choices, reservations, and seat matrix. View provisional allotment.

6. Confirmation of Allotment—Options: Accept & Join (confirm seat), Accept & Upward (keep for better in next rounds), or Decline. Download the allotment order.

7. Reporting & Admission Confirmation — Report to TCE with docs and the allotment order, and pay fees to confirm. Download final orders from portal.
