Placement and Internship at United Institute of Medical Sciences (UIMS)

Internships are easily available and compulsory in the college hospital itself. Practical learning during internship is rated strong due to high patient flow. After degree, students report good scope for paid positions and clinical practice. Placement percentage and salary figures for medical stream are not published officially like engineering streams of the group.

Internship Cell / Compulsory Rotating Internship (CRI) 

• All MBBS students must complete a 1-year compulsory rotating internship after 4.5 years of academic study.

• Internship is conducted entirely at the attached United Medicity Hospital (500+ bed multi-speciality hospital on campus).

• Students get hands-on training in all major departments including Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, etc.

• Stipend is provided during the internship period.

• Internship completion certificate is mandatory for degree award and permanent registration with medical council.

• Batches are divided and scheduled as per official notices issued by the college.
  

Placement Cell / Training & Placement Support

• UIMS falls under the United Group of Institutions / United University, which has a central Corporate Relations Centre (CRC) / Training & Placement Cell.

• The cell helps with career guidance, skill development, and connecting students with opportunities in healthcare.

• For MBBS graduates, “placements” mainly mean post-internship opportunities such as:

• Many students prefer to pursue MD/MS/PG courses rather than direct job placement.

• Student reviews mention good support for internships and decent placement assistance, with most students getting opportunities after completion of internship.

• No separate dedicated placement cell only for UIMS medical students; it uses the group-level placement infrastructure.

United Institute of Medical Sciences (UIMS): Scholarships are mainly provided through government schemes, not directly by the college. Students can apply for Uttar Pradesh State Scholarships based on income and category. Reserved category students (SC/ST/OBC) may get financial support as per state rules.

• Economically Weaker Section (EWS) students can apply for fee assistance under government policies.

• Track status- Check regularly on portal

• Receive scholarship- Amount is transferred to bank account
