DUIET, a constituent institute of Dibrugarh University, offers four-year B.Tech programs in:

• Computer Science & Engineering
• Electronics & Communication Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Petroleum Engineering

Total intake: Around 260-300 seats. 

Admissions are merit-based through national/state-level entrance exams, followed by centralised counselling. DUIET accepts scores from both JEE Main and Assam CEE (Combined Entrance Examination).

Eligibility Criteria

• Passed 10+2 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (Chemistry not mandatory for CSE and ECE as per AICTE guidelines).
• Minimum 50% aggregate in PCM (relaxation for reserved categories as per norms).
• Permanent resident of Assam preferred for state quota; All India seats available via JEE Main.
• Age and other norms as per AICTE/University rules.

Key Steps in the Admission Process 

• JEE Main 2026: Conducted by NTA and Register at jeemain.nta.ac.in.
• Assam CEE 2026: State-level exam by Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU). Expected registration in February-March 2026; exam in April-May 2026. Apply at astu.ac.in.
• Apply to DUIET/Dibrugarh University: Online applications are invited separately via the DUIET Admission Portal on www.dibru.ac.in.
• Application fee: INR 1,000 (paid online). Provide scores from JEE Main and/or Assam CEE. Separate applications for fresh entry and lateral entry (direct 2nd year for diploma holders).
• Merit List and Counseling: Merit is prepared based on entrance scores. Counseling conducted by Dibrugarh University (for university seats) or through Assam CEE counseling by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Assam. 
• Multiple rounds: Choice filling, seat allotment, document verification, and fee payment. Spot rounds if seats remain vacant.

Document Verification and Final Admission:

• Report to DUIET with originals: 10+2 marksheet, entrance scorecard, category certificate (if applicable), domicile proof, etc. Pay admission/course fees to confirm a seat.
