Dibrugarh University Institute of Engineering and Technology (DUIET) operated under the central Training & Placement Cell of Dibrugarh University. It provides all the placement support, training, internships, campus recruitment drives, and skill development sessions to students.  Though there is no separate standalone placement cell exclusively for DUIET. 

The placement cell organises on and off-campus drives, pre-placement talks, skills-based trainings, internships, and guest lectures. It also provides industrial training for branches like Petroleum Engineering. 

The placement cell focuses on final year students and aims at their employment enhancement. Placements are stronger for core branches aligned with Northeast India’s oil & gas ecosystem. The average placement package offered in recruitment drives is INR 8 LPA, and the highest package offered is INR 22 LPA. Some of the leading recruiters that come and participate in its drives are Oil India Limited, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, Numaligarh Refinery Limited, Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited, TCS, Capgemini, Cognizant, and  Wipro. Top sectors in which students get placed are Core Engineering, Manufacturing, IT/Software Services, Consulting, Analytics and more.
