Guwahati College of Architecture Guwahati Admission 2026: Process, Eligibility & Selection Criteria

At Guwahati College of Architecture and Planning (GCAP), admissions to its courses are primarily entrance based, followed by counselling. It offers three architecture programmes, B.I.D, B.Arch, and M.Arch. Fulfilling eligibility criteria is mandatory. 

Eligibility Criteria:

• Bachelor in Interior Design: Passed 10 + 2 in Arts / Commerce / Science stream with minimum 40% marks in aggregate from AHSEC/CBSE/ICSE Boards. Or Passed 10 + 3 Diploma in any stream recognized by State or Central govt. with minimum 40% marks in aggregate.

• B.Arch: Passed 10 + 2 in Science stream with minimum 45% marks in Physics and Maths (cumpulsory) and other as well as in aggregate from AHSEC/CBSE/ICSE Boards (40% marks for ST/SC candidates). Or Passed 10 + 3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as Compulsory subject with at least 45% marks in aggregate.

• M.Plan: Graduate in Architecture / Civil Engineering / Planning with minimum 55% marks or CGPI 6 out of 10 at graduation from recognized University Or Post graduate in Geography / Economics / Sociology with 55% marks or CGPI 6 out of 10 at Post Graduation from a recognized University. (50% marks for ST/SC candidate).
  

Admission Process:

• Entrance Exam: Appear for required entrance exam as your preferred programme.

• Application: Fill online/offline application form with academic and entrance exam details

• Documents Required: 10th & 12th mark sheets, NATA/JEE scorecard, ID proof, photos, category certificate if applicable

• Merit List: Prepared based on entrance exam score and academic performance

• Counselling: Shortlisted students attend counselling and seat selection based on rank and seat availability

• Fee Payment: Pay tuition fees and submit original documents to confirm admission
