Internship (CRMI) at Jubilee Mission Medical College

Every MBBS student must complete one-year Compulsory Rotating Medical Internship (CRMI) after passing the final year exams. The entire internship is done at the attached Jubilee Mission Hospital, a large multi-speciality teaching hospital with heavy patient flow. Students also get free hostel accommodation during the internship period. Many students mention that the clinical exposure is very good due to the busy hospital, though the workload can be high.

Departments covered: Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Community Medicine, Ophthalmology, ENT, Psychiatry, Dermatology, and others as per NMC guidelines.

Stipend (2025): 

• State Government portion: INR 25,000 per month

• College portion: INR 15,000 per month

• Total: Approximately INR 40,000 per month

Placement Cells at Jubilee Mission Medical College does not have a traditional placement cell like engineering colleges. There are no campus recruitment drives by companies. After completing the internship, most MBBS graduates have these options. The attached hospital regularly absorbs many interns and postgraduates internally. Overall, around 90% of graduates find clinical jobs or higher study opportunities without much difficulty.

• Join as Junior Resident or Senior Resident in the same Jubilee Mission Hospital (preference is often given to their own graduates).

• Prepare for NEET-PG and pursue MD/MS specialization.

• Work in other private hospitals across Kerala or outside the state.

• Appear for government medical officer posts.

Salary range (for those who take up jobs immediately after internship):

• Fresh graduates: Usually starts around INR 7 to 10 LPA

• PG-qualified doctors: Higher, up to INR 12 to 19 LPA in some cases
