UG Eligibility Criteria- Pass in 10+2 (Intermediate) or equivalent from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as compulsory subjects (minimum 45% aggregate for general; relaxations for reserved categories as per Bihar government norms). Provisional admission is allowed if appearing in 10+2 finals, but proof of passing must be submitted during counselling.

Entrance examination accepted- Primarily BCECE (Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination) conducted by BCECEB. JEE Main scores are also accepted (often leading to a separate or combined merit list via UGEAC - Under Graduate Engineering Admission Counselling).

PG Eligibility Criteria- Passed graduation in B.E./B.Tech or equivalent in relevant discipline with minimum qualifying marks (usually 50-55%; relaxations apply).

Entrance Exam: A valid GATE score is required.

Application and Selection Process:- 

• Appear in the Entrance Exam: Register and appear for BCECE (or JEE Main for consideration). BCECE typically includes screening and main exams (details in BCECE prospectus).
• Apply for Counselling: After results, register on the BCECEB portal (bceceboard.bihar.gov.in) for Under Graduate Engineering Admission Counselling (UGEAC) or equivalent.
• Fill Choices: Select MIT Muzaffarpur and preferred branches during online choice filling based on your rank/score.
• Merit List and Seat Allotment: BCECEB prepares a merit list (sometimes combining BCECE and JEE Main ranks) and conducts multiple rounds of counselling/seat allotment.
• Report to Institute: If allotted a seat, download the allotment letter, report to MIT Muzaffarpur for document verification, pay fees (around INR 5,530 per year for B.Tech), and complete admission formalities.
