Compulsory Rotating Medical Internship (CRMI)

After completing 4.5 years of MBBS, every student at Stanley Medical College must undergo a one-year compulsory rotating internship. This internship is conducted in the attached Government Stanley Hospital, which has over 1,500 beds and high patient inflow. Interns get hands-on training in major departments including General Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Emergency Medicine, and Community Medicine.

Interns at Stanley Medical College receive a monthly stipend of approximately  INR 25,000 to  INR 35,000 (as per current Tamil Nadu Government norms). The internship provides excellent clinical exposure due to the large volume of patients, making it one of the strongest points of this college.
